Yesterday was a special day for everyone at Zero1gaming as it was its first very own birthday. To celebrate this each writer has taken time to look back at posts from our selected writer and chosen one post which really stood out to them.
My given writer is the lovely Kirsty. I started writing at Z1G at the same time she did and I have had the pleasure of not only reading her constantly good posts but I even teamed up together to write a One on one with her and Ray. Kirsty has already put a lot into Z1G and the whole team are not only proud but very grateful for what’s she done.
The article I have chosen from Kirsty’s archives was the Hidden Gem review of Alan Wake. Alan wake was my game of 2010 and is still one of my all time favourites. Not only was it game that brought a really impressive and clever story but the gameplay was very fun and felt really fresh. I chose this article because I honestly couldn’t of done a better job reviewing Alan Wake myself, she hit all the points I would of included and even more. I think what makes the review special is that even though I have played the game many times, after reading her review I really wanted to pick it up and start playing it again. To me, that means she couldn’t of done a better job.
I’ve been writing for Zero1Gaming for about 6 months now and loved every moment of it. Not only do I have a great site to write for but get to be part of a growing team of great writers who it’s a pleasure to work with. It’s been a great birthday for the team at Z1G and I hope to working with them for many more.
The games industry today is abuzz with talk of the next generation of gaming. With the WiiU already with us, the Playstation 4 having been announced a while ago and, by the time you read this, Microsoft being about to or having just announced the next Xbox unit, you can’t move around the gaming web [...]
Computer games, as much as any other medium, are mysterious things. They can stir our souls, hotwire our adrenaline glands or disappoint us to our core. For every person who plays a game there is a valid and varied opinion. It’s one of the things that make the subject of a game’s relative quality a [...]
Across every genre of entertainment there are specific titles or releases that become synonymous with failure, that in the eyes of fans and critics alike embody the worst that the genre has to offer. They become the universal butt of any joke in that medium, the yardstick against which every other poorly-received release is measured. [...]
Over recent years there has been a shift in the focus of the gaming industry towards online multiplayer as a gaming model. Indeed, the biggest sellers of this generation of titles have been primarily online competitive titles, such as Halo 4 & Call of Duty. Over this time there has developed a very distinct separation [...]
