Ubisoft was the third company to present their work to us and boy did they deliver!

With a somewhat slow start but with an eventual somewhat concert being put on by Flo Rida, accompanied with dancing girls, the first game that was showcased was somewhat lost among of this singing and dancing. Although Flo Rida himself tried to get the crowd involved, he didn’t prevail in doing so and was faced with somewhat several judgemental eyes.  Nevertheless, the first announcement was the inevitable confirmation that we’ll be seeing a fourth instalment of the Just Dance series onto our consoles.

With popular Youtuber Tobuscus aka Toby Turner running about backstage, the conference was sure to be a laugh, but moving back to the games. (This isn’t Microsoft y’know!)

Ubisoft followed up with an insight into Far Cry 3 which is due out later this year.  With a provocative start to the demo by having a topless woman staring straight from the off, I think gamers worldwide already regarded that Ubi’s conference was the best of E3 2012 so far. The demo displayed some beautiful jungle scenery and an interesting use of this said environment as the demo showed us tigers being set free out of their cages after the player shooting at them, letting the tigers loose to maul anything in sight before quickly zip lining down to the ground and killing the tiger. Nearer the end of the demo, we were taken through a bit more of a trippy experience as if you were on drugs. Albeit , with over 3 islands to explore and more information about Far Cry 3 to be given to us later on this week, this game looks like it’s full of promises that I’m sure, will not be broken!

As we had already seen during Microsoft’s conference earlier on in the day, Splinter Cell Blacklist looked as if it was an amazing game just from the demo. As mentioned during Microsoft’s conference, Blacklist was to feature spies VS mercs however it was confirmed during Ubi’s conference that co-op would be returning to the game.

If you haven’t yet seen Marvel’s latest blockbuster movie , The Avengers, then what the hell are you doing still reading this?!  The  Marvel Avengers Battle of Earth trailer showed appearances coming from Wolverine, Spiderman, Magneto, Captain America, Thor and Ironman to name but a few. Marvel Avengers Battle of Earth will be available for the Wii-U and Xbox 360 with Kinect capabilities and is due out later this year.

Speaking of the Wii-U, we got shown how well even the prototype version of the hardware works as Ubisoft displayed to us through its upcoming game, Rayman Legends. The game itself features a new character that goes by the name of Murphy and by using the tough screen technology on the Wii- U controller, it appears that Ubisoft have really utilized the hardware on the Wii-U to provide us with an outstanding demonstration. The actions seemed fluent and introduced a real sense of Rayman Legends allowing us to have some good fun co-op on the game itself by one player controlling Murphy and changing the environment for the other player controlling Rayman to continue on through by each player having different views on the same map at certain points during the game. Ubisoft also mentioned that the game can have up to five people playing at the one time.

A bunch of Wii-U titles have been announced as well as Rayman Legends. After a rather graphic trailer of Wii-U exclusive game, ZombiU, some of the other titles mentioned included Rabbids Land, Your Shape Fitnessed Evolved 2013, Sport Connection and Just Dance 4.

Now onto one of the games that I’m sure most gamers, including myself, were looking forward to the most and no doubt, perhaps the only reason they bothered tuning into the live stream – Assassins Creed 3!

After a somewhat action packed trailer which showed us Connor using his tomahawk and bow and arrow in combat against the English, could it be beaten? Well the demo did just that! Showing us how fluid it was to climb and navigate through the trees in the forest and the stealth required for hunting deer’s, I was personally almost in tears in how amazing this looked! The HUD for the game looks clean and easy to use. The combat was just like previous Assassins Creed titles and provided amazing looking kills using the various weapons at new guy Connor’s disposal including the tomahawk, pistol and infamous hidden blade.

The game is set to span over 30 years and environments will not only range from cities to wilderness, but seasons will be changing as well going from summers to winter with knee deep snow.

After some friendly on-stage banter between the host and previously mentioned Tobuscus, Shootmania was shown to us through a friendly 3 VS 3 battle. Shootmania is a first-person shooter and we were able to see a game of rockets VS railgun where one person on one team went against the three other members in the opposing team equipped with a railgun that gave you one shot kills. With the team of the guys beating the girls, Shootmania looks as if it could have potential lurking underneath it.  Players can sign up for the beta right now at www.shootmania.com.

There was a small mention of Ubisoft introducing free to play games to PC browsers and the titles of such XBLA and PSN hits such as Trials Evolution and I Am Alive looks like this good be a good start for Ubisoft on this front. As well as this, don’t forget Ubisoft has got a Ghost Recon browser game in the works as well!

Finally, I think everyone was amazed by the last game that Ubisoft pulled out of their magical E3 bag. A new game was announced and it goes by the name of Watchdogs. You play as Joseph Demano who has got a bit of a skill for hacking.  You play within an open city where this becomes you playground by hacking into other peoples phone conversations to find out information, jamming connections on mobiles and controlling the traffic lights to cause crashes on purpose – there’s no wonder the feedback from the E3 conference itself was positive.  Watch_dog looks to bring something new to the table of games that are already out there and looks outstanding just to even watch nevermind play!

Hats off to Ubisoft for presenting us gamers with an outstanding press conference for E3 2012 and we here at Zero1Gaming look forward to these games being released.  Remember and keep track of E3’s last two press conferences, Sony and Nintendo, via the twitter hashtag #Z1GatE3, on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/zero1gaming) and of course, here on Zero1Gaming.
