With a title like that, don’t fret readers – I do know who they are but I’m bringing that information to you as Zero1Gaming readers and ask you to embark on a mission of discovery.Gaming is practically everywhere that we look on the internet nowadays and one place where it’s really kicked off is YouTube. With ‘let’s play’, walkthrough, achievement and trophy guides – where do you even begin to start looking for someone to subscribe to? Some offer controversial discussions on current gaming issues and others just want to fill you in on their life’s goings on however; there are a team of three guys out there who want to bring just the joy of gaming with friends to you.
That Manly Gaming Blog, consisting of Luke, Robert and Chris, doesn’t have an epic life story of how they came about. As many of us gamers have tried, TMGB dabbled in the old typing up of reviews of games however this wasn’t a pleasure for them so instead, they looked into creating YouTube videos and by just having a laugh and a giggle between themselves playing games, they hoped to give their audience some pleasure from watching them take on various games.
Currently, they’ve covered a range of games in the videos they have recorded so far including Minecraft, Gears of War 3, Killzone 3 and are starting to look at something a bit more on the scarier side of the tracks with Amnesia Dark Descent which is even going to include a bit of face cam as well to really capture the emotion – or just general screams for the viewer’s pleasure! <insert evil and psychotic laugh here>
As well as creating more gaming videos for their YouTube audience, That Manly Gaming Blog are hoping to start up a regular podcast however with all of the guys having day jobs that need doing to bring in the cash at the end of the day, times against them in some manner to get their plans into motion and even though they have expressed their hope to be able to do the videos for a day job, unfortunately they can’t.
Luke commented on the fact that he knows they’re not the best gamers nor are the videos they produce the best gameplay either however, they play video games together to have a laugh and enjoy them as much as possible and hope that if they viewers like what they see will want to watch more.
After having a conversation with the guys last week, I instantly got the humour that they bring with them and within the hour, my face was hurting from laughing so much. Obviously you can’t all have personal Skype calls with the guys but their 10-20 minute videos on their channel will be more than enough to cheer you up whenever you’re feeling a bit down, just wanting to relax and enjoy some gameplay videos or seek out a new game to play.
Below is a prime example of what That Manly Gaming Blog offer to their viewers. If you like what you see, I urge you to hit that subscribe button and also give them a like on their facebook page (links under the video).
Luke, Rob and Chris are open to any ideas that their fans have for them with regards to what games you want them to tackle and record for your pleasure.
