What follows below could purely be a coincidence but it certainly is interesting.
Microsoft have announced that they have won two disputes with National Arbitration Forum over the use of domain names previously owned by a Chinese resident.
Microsoft are now the proud owners of XboxPhone.com, XboxTablet.com, XboxLiveTV.com, XboxCompanion.com, Xbox8.us and Xbox8.org.
Now normally the grab for domain names is usually to stop any negative use of the brand name but with Windows 8 soon to be released it has fuelled some speculation, especially as the next Xbox is rumoured to be using a variant of Windows 8.
Add to the mix that a rumour stated that name for the next Xbox would be Xbox Infinity, if you turn the number 8 on it’s side you get the infinity symbol……
At the moment this is all purely rumour and conjecture but Microsoft have previously stated that they want to align the software & hardware parts of the business, could this be the next step?

For every person who plays a game there is a valid and varied opinion. It’s one of the things that make the subject of a game’s relative quality a [...]

Over recent years there has been a shift in the focus of the gaming industry towards online multiplayer as a gaming model. Indeed, the biggest sellers of this generation of titles have been primarily online competitive titles, such as Halo 4 & Call of Duty. Over this time there has developed a very distinct separation [...]
