Bethesda has announced that the latest update, version 1.7, for The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is now available on Steam. This update should be automatically installed by the Steam client, providing it’s set to automatically update your games. If not, simply launch the game to receive the update.

What’s in the 1.7 update?

  • General memory and stability optimizations
  • Fixed crash related to new water shaders
  • Fixed rare crash related to dragon landings
  • Using vampiric grip and swimming no longer prevents swimming animation from playing afterwards

If you have the game on console, then don’t worry. The update will be submitted to console manufacturers this week, Bethesda confirmed.

For those on consoles, the current plan is to submit the update to console manufacturers this week. As soon as it’s available, we’ll let you know.
