LEGO 2K Drive is disappearing from digital stores this week

May 18, 2026·2 min read
LEGO 2K Drive is about to vanish from digital storefronts only three years after launch. 2K has updated the game’s store pages with a notice confirming the racer will be removed from sale on May 19, 2026.

The game is not shutting down immediately, but its future now has clear limits. Players who already own LEGO 2K Drive will still be able to download and play it, while online services are scheduled to stay active until May 31, 2027.

The delisting came with very little warning

The notice appeared quietly across storefronts, giving players only a short amount of time to buy the game before it disappears digitally. That sudden timing is what caught many fans off guard.

Delistings are common in licensed games, especially when contracts expire, but publishers do not always explain the reason publicly. 2K has not shared why LEGO 2K Drive is being removed, though most statements have pointed to licensing as the likely cause.

That possibility would make sense for a game built around the LEGO brand and licensed partnerships, but for players the practical issue is simpler: once the deadline passes, the game will no longer be available to purchase digitally.

Online multiplayer still has time left

While the delisting is happening now, multiplayer support will continue for another year. That gives current players time to keep racing online, explore Bricklandia with friends, and use the connected features that helped shape the game’s open-world setup.

After May 31, 2027, online-only features will stop working. Offline play should still remain available for owners, which is important for a game that also includes solo exploration, races, and vehicle building outside multiplayer modes.

LEGO 2K Drive had a strong idea but mixed reception

LEGO 2K Drive launched in 2023 from Visual Concepts and 2K as an arcade racer mixed with LEGO-style buildings. Players could create custom vehicles brick by brick and switch between road, off-road, and water driving during races.

The core idea stood out, especially for younger players and LEGO fans, but the game struggled to keep momentum. Criticism around microtransactions and its live-service structure followed the game through launch, and its Steam user rating currently sits at “Mixed.”

For players who still want to pick it up digitally, the clock is now ticking toward May 19.
